Wtf Is Going On?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Well this is stupid but I’m in the Bahamas and I went Scuba Diving today with a group on a boat, and 1 of the guys on the boat had food poisoning the night before.. from a bad clam or something. he wasnt showing any symptoms, but he was still sick the night before. and I didnt swim anywhere near him or make close contact with him watsoever in the water.. so my real question here is could I contract it from him somehow in the water.. even though we weren’t close and we went deep sea diving.. so there was quite a lot of space.. it’s been 8 hours since my dive. and no syptoms and parents who went diving aswell, are also fine.

Thanks. In advance. :]].

P.S. I sincerely apologize for this being such a stupid question.

I’m NO expert, but I’m very sure you’ll be fine. I don’t think food poisoning is contagious…is it? Even if it is, you were in water! I think you’re pretty safe. I was in a hotel room with a friend who happens to have a VERY serious disease. I admit that I was scared, but he’s a friend. SAME ROOM. Ahh!!!! But even so, another friend was in the same room, and both of us were fine. We were in a hotel in the east coast(I’m on the west coast. It was a learning trip.)

So…yeah… I think you’re safe if you had no symptoms. You’re just being a LITTLE bit too scared. If I lived, your’re sure to live too.

And no, not a stupid question. Entertaining question! And… IF you know something about computers, you wouldn’t mind answering one of my computer questions. It’s about media-convert. If you don’t use it, don’t worry about it.

    Anyways…Good luck and……………don’t…….die. ;)

No you can not get food poisoning just from being around another person. You would have to eat the same thing they had ate. But i have never heard of someone only being sick from food poisoning for a few hours like that. Normally it last for a couple of days. He might have just ate something that didn’t agree with him.

No, food poisoning isn’t communicable. In order to get food poisoning you actually have to digest and break down rotten food. By the time you get sick it’s already in your system, and even if you threw up in someone’s face, they still wouldn’t get food poisoning themselves (even though that’s really gross…)

Food poisoning isn’t contagious. It’s caused by toxins secreted by certain bacteria in contaminated or undercooked foods.
