    This footage shows legal activity. The You Tube video, “Operation Taconite on the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald”, shows illegal removal of taconite pellets from the wreck site.

    think of how many people would go and see this and how much money people could make if they brought it up out of the water

    the ship isn’t worth bringing up, the deck on the bow collapsed and people should let the ship sit in the darkness to never be seen again.

    If it is so wrong to dive on this ship then the Titanic, WW 2 wrecks etc should be off limits. A handful of people died on the E Fizgerald….thousands died on the Titanic…yet they brought up clothing, artifacts etc etc.

    I do not get the logic in saying that this ship is more sacred than other wrecks……they all should be off limits….

    This wreck is not off limits but it does require an archaeological license from the Ontario Ministry of Culture to go there. Unedited video footage of the Fitz is not a statement that it is sacred or anything else.

    Pretty dangerous place to be driving a mini-sub. Lots of cables and wires to snag and hold you down. Good footage, just the same.

    Did they find any bodies?. I know that is morbid but its just a question.

    @jonquil4000

    They didn’t find bodies in this series of dives but Expedition 94 found a body at the wreck site. See the You Tube video, “Expedition 94: Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.”
