    ive not been to truk yet (going in 3weeks)
    but had seen plenty of vids on youtube with people next to one of those light japanese tanks @50mr? with a single 12ltr tank :o

    isnt san francisco maru the only wreck with the light japanese tanks?

    infernalzen: I think Nippo Maru has got Japanese tanks too, check it out! San Francisco is a stunning wreck!

    i hope to be able to check loads of them out :)
    i have two weeks at the lagoon hotel.

    glad theres tanks elsewhere +not people risking it, just for the sake of it…

    infernalzen (: Sorry just overlooked your comment about single tank divers… Yes there were a lot of single tank Japanese divers in Chuuk I saw a couple diving San Francisco Maru that is 57 -60 m to the bottom. They do “a touch dives” and don’t see a lot.

    infernalzen:#2 We were diving from the boat (well a yacht to be honest) and we had all the manifolds, double tanks, deco stages, etc on board. But I heard the dive shop on the island is good. They have got everything you need.

    thanks :)
    with the “touch divers” :(
    diving outside their certification, into the “hope it goes well”.
    i wouldve thought the operator, had the responsibility to instill upon its clients,
    the danger of exceeding their certification +plan.
    +told them theyd check their depths post dive +anyone exceeding their cert would not dive again that day
    +not dive again without a guide.

    I was involved in lifting the Zero fighters to use as templates for flight replicas.

    History flew with effort.

    TheUSCam: That’s very interesting! Would you like to consider making a short documentary about it with us?

    March 4th, 2010 at 08:39 | #19

    infernalzen: I think the local dive shop is still ok with deep touch dives. These divers are diving with their guides only.

    That would be very a very good idea, TheUSCam.

    personal choice i guess.
    if someones open water +does it…
    they must hope someone dumps their dive computer memory if theyre taken to hospital?
    or the insurer wont cover a cent of the bill.

    @overseasmedia

    I acknowledge the suggestion. I will discuss it with others to see if there is a general interest. As we have worked with the film industry before any commercial maritime contract would have to be via the Baltic Exchange.

    @scubazmei

    We may yet take you up on the offer of charter. A short, or long, documentary has a financial interest to us. As has any commercial enquiry of our services.

    TheUSCam: That would be an option…Can we talk via email?

  25. TheUSCam
    March 5th, 2010 at 22:37 | #25

    @overseasmedia

    By email can easily be done. However, as what we have here at the moment is possibly just a tonge-in-cheek response to a youtube comment and not a genuine offer please put some ideas together, including your available funding figures for the project and PM me. If we beleive you are sincere then we could certainly do business.

    A contract via the Baltic is not an option, it is an effective way of ensuring contracts are not renaiged on, by either party.
