Are Spider Crab’s the Biggest Crabs in the World?

Not much further now, I told Captain Starburner via the communication pipe. I was on the bottom of the ocean, walking alongside the sea bed in a fine Deep sea diving suit, with big heavy boots.
‘Twas a wondrous sight as I approached the Lost City of Atlantis.
"Is it there VG?" I could hear the Captain’s excited voice." Is Atlantis really there?"
"It is indeed Captain. And a sight it is too."
I surged forward to the entrance and was greeted by a strange gilled, fish like man wavering before me.
"Halt!" He bubbled, "Ye may not enter this City!"
"Why not?" I asks.
"Only by slaying the dreaded Spider Crab may you enter our realm".
Always a catch! Bah! Oh well lets to it I thought, so I gets the directions off the guard and followed a path that would lead me to the lair of the dreaded Spider Crab.
Shortly afterwards I was faced with the monster! Bigger than a bus, it ran sideways towards me and grabbed my with it’s terrible claws.
Bubbles spluttered out of my Jacksey as I was pulled towards it’s gnawing mandibles, it’s horrid little eyes twinkling with malice on their stalks.
"How the bloody hell did he get in there?" Shouted an aquarium attendant as he pulled me out in a big fishing net as I grappled with this big 6ft span Spider Crab.
Apparently I’ve being banned from Sea World, I tried telling them the Spider Crab was giving me the come on, and was provoking me through the glass, but they threatened me with a Crab worrying lawsuit if I didn’t bugger off.
Gad! Some people!

Who would have thought it, eh, only VG, with his rare gift for polemic elucidation, and "creative" reportage could make a "dose of Crab" sound so much …um…not exactly fun, but you get the gist of it. And they really are a bit provocative ! You have my full sympathy VG,
    a truly fishy tale.

The greeks, they are particular about their fish..
And it came on to you, you say?
Consider it an honor..mathematics, chemisty, biology..invented by (flaming) greeks who had (had) crabs (come onto them) at least once…

(lol..eos..you are so right about this one!)

You’ve got my mouth watering. I just hope I’m invited to dinner when you do vanquish the beast, and you will with a Season Pass. Clarified butter, baked potatoes, green salad, crusty bread…Spider Crab is the crown jewel and worth the battle.

Sir,I love a crusty crab and I have had a few large ones myself, but the idea of a creature that walks side ways is a wonder to behold in the world of crustaceans and for that matter man.I have indeed fought crabs on my adventures many leagues below the sea,but have not laid eyes on a spider crab! Does the creature have 8 legs?
